The Nooga

Almost a week after this vacation, I am just now slowing down to get some pictures up! We went to Chattanooga for a short family getaway. We left Sister behind in the care of BB and Pawpaw since she is still very dependent upon long naps in a crib. We knew this vacation would be action packed, so it would be too much cruel to drag E along on our adventures. She had a blast at BB and Pawpaws and was of course spoiled rotten! 

The first stop was the aquarium. What an awesome place! So beautiful and fascinating. Carter of course had to document every single sea creature with my phone. That kiddo loves to take pictures. I wouldn't be shocked one bit if he became a photographer one day.

The butterflies were so cool.

The escalators were a huge hit! Ha! It's the little things.

So exciting!

But even though the aquarium was fun, these fountains (the only free activity we did) were their absolute favorite.

We went to our first 3D IMAX movie. The Great White Shark.

Rode the Incline Railway of course.

And Dada was a sucker in the souvenir shop :)

But the best part of the trip for ME was seeing my bestie! Nancy and I hadn't seen each other in what felt like decades! When you have been in a continual conversation with someone for over five years, it's so fun to get to hug and eat a meal and let our kids play every now and then. In ideal world we would do this once a month, but we live 7 hours apart. Ugh. So it just happens when it happens. Thankful for a day of fun with the Simmons clan. XOXO

Emily and Carter are six days apart and buddies! They are like cousins. They know all about each other, facetime one another, and see pictures of one another all the time, so when they see each other, they pick up right where they left off. I love that.

And on the way home, we picked up Molly the cat. Sounds so random, but we had actually arranged this before we left. Our former cats were Ragamese cats, so we searched online and found a litter of Ragamese kittens in Chattanooga that were going to be ready the week we were there! But there is more to the story.... Carter drew the below pic several months ago at school...

I have no idea where Molly the cat came from, but he made her up and put her in his family portrait he was asked to draw at school. He's been asking for her ever since. I think he thinks he imagined her into existence at this point. She is the sweetest little kitten, and the boys are absolutly smitten with her!

So we had a fantastic trip!!!! But let me tell you we were so excited to get home and see this little sister. This is her six month picture my dear friend Elizabeth took of her. I love it so much! And I loved coming home to this chunk of love!
