A Super Birthday Party

I have a thankful heart tonight. I am so very thankful that God has given me children. And celebrating my children on their birthdays are highlights in my life.  A very special day today. A celebration of God's gifts, His mercies, and His faithfulness. Celebrating four years of Carter was the most fun I've had in a long time. He is in my opinion the coolest and best four year old around. Making him feel loved and special today, seeing those big grins, hearing those giggles and squeals, and making sweet memories were wonderful gifts straight from above. Thank you, Lord, for my babies. And thank you today for my Carter and the four precious years you have given us with him. Thank you for family and friends who love my child and took time to come and love on him and tell him Happy Birthday. Thank you for fun costumes, cake, and presents...all just tiny glimpses of the magnificent heavenly celebration to come.

If you didn't know already, my boys are just a tad bit into superheros. We already have a Spiderman birthday under our belts, but after today, we now how two superhero parties under our belts! Here are the boys getting geared up for the bash. It was a costume party, and Carter wanted to be the Incredible Hulk. So when the costume came in the mail a few days ago, it was like Christmas morning!

Might be my favorite picture of all time. This is dress rehearsal two days before the party.

Joel and I went to set up the church gym this morning while BB kept the boys, so when they arrived at the party, the super cool superhero cake and balloons and jumpy houses and balls were all set up and ready for a celebration of my favorite four year old!

Here is Hulk feeling very special and very excited!

Carter has been talking about this cake for six months...the day FINALLY came! His very own superhero cake!

I love this shy look as everybody started to sing to him.

Blew out those candles like a pro.

Licking all the icing off those heros

Incredible Hulk carrying around a toy Incredible Hulk.

Enjoying some cool toys from our friends.

And lastly heading to his birthday dinner dressed in a couple of his presents. Catfish was his dinner of choice.

Birthday dinner "right of passage" as Joel says....learning to shoot spit balls. Oh dear. Gotta love boys!

Happy Birthday, Carter! And many, many, many more!
